Lamesa, Texas to Galveston, Texas
Saturday, June 28: Lamesa, TX to Cedar Creek, TX
The day began bright and early for us as we wanted to have Big V ready to roll when Cat brought Jaycie and Keaton to us. By just a little after 7 AM, I had a text from Jaycie that they were on the road! And, by 9:45 we and the kids were on the road for an adventure!
The trip to Clear Creek, TX (where we were to spend the night) was rather uneventful; but we did have some Walmart fun when Jim needed a short nap. Then there was pool and dinner time once we got settled for the night.
Sunday, June 29: Cedar Creek, TX to Galveston, TX
Another early morning start as we wanted to get through Houston as early as we could and then have lunch with friends Joyce and Gary outside of League City. Since Big V with the Equinox cannot be parked just anywhere, it was necessary for us to leave her at a Buc-E's and let Joyce and Gary transport us in their car to the KFC the kids had picked out.
Joyce and Gary were shocked to see how much Jaycie had grown! And, of course, we all had to explain to Jaycie and Keaton that our friendship goes way, way back. It was Joyce to kept John, November 25, 1971, when I went to the hospital to have Jaycie's daddy-o, Jimmy Clint. And, it was Joyce and Gary's girls who one time talked Jimmy Clint into letting them "surprise" us by putting make-up, a wig, and dress on him! Oh, the stories we could tell! But, it was time to hit the road and find our place at Jamaica Beach Resort in Galveston.
Once we arrived in Galveston, we were absolutely shocked (even though Joyce & Gary had warned us it was bad) with the seaweed that washes in on the beach. The smell is atrocious and the seaweed ugly to see! We were determined though to still visit the beaches and to have a picnic which wound up being in the car as pictures later will document!

The party is over; but the time shared was priceless!
