“Tree”mendous 2007

~January... 27th…took grandson, Alexander, to his first cheer competition to meet our granddaughters, Randi and Jaycie. A side bonus was that Keylin, my sister Nancy’s granddaughter, was there, too. (Nancy was there, too!) January 29th…became great grandparents as Rhett Johnson, son of grandson Kris, was born in San Antonio.

~Februaryvisits to Lenexa and Liberal to see daughters, Whitney and Leah and their husbands.

~March…Spent 3 weeks in Lady Lake, Florida to help build Crossroads Community Church, seeing family and friends along the way, like granddaughter Randi in San Antonio!

~April…Another visit with Randi, John, and Carol in San Antonio; Had opportunity to keep Jaycie in Lubbock while Jimmy and Cathey were at a business meeting; Jim and I went to Ruidoso for Wheel of Fortune pre-auditions. April 22nd Grandson James William Farnham IV (Little Jimmy) born to daughter Whitney and husband Jim in Lenexa.

~May…First visit with Little Jimmy in Lenexa; Quick trip to see Michael in Richmond; Attend Duke graduation for Karen Francis; Had dinner with Heather and family; Breakfast with sister Nancy in Cleburne; Jim auditioned in El Paso, TX, for Wheel of Fortune; Back to Liberal for Odyssey of the Mind team’s graduation; Another visit with Little Jimmy; Back to Richmond…what a busy month!

~June…Two weeks in Richmond with Mike and Kelly; Kept Alexander and Abby while Heather and Andy took care of new home details; Lubbock to see Jaycie perform at basketball camp. June 30th…one year since we left Liberal!!!

~July…Granddaughter Jaycie took a short vacation to Ruidoso, Alamogordo, White Sands, and Artesia with us. Sister Carol and husband Cal plus niece Lynette and her family joined us at White Sands. Took Edith to Breckenridge where her sister TJ picked her up for a visit in Mineola.

~August…We call this the wedding month! First, it was to Hobbs for Barbara Francis’s wedding; Lubbock to get Jaycie and take her to Liberal to visit with Leah and Ryan; Next, we headed to Albuquerque to attend Paul Francis’s wedding. Unfortunately, the month ended with the death of Charlie Brown, daughter-in-law Carol’s daddy.

~September…Sadly, this was our month of funerals. First, was the trip to San Antonio to be with Carol and family and attend Charlie’s funeral. The night before we were to leave, we got the word that Jim’s Uncle Raymond in Marianna, FL, had died. Pointed the Vibe east and headed to Florida. Back to San Antonio to spend the week-end with son John and family again. Quick run to Lubbock in Big V to get the microwave replaced which meant Jaycie could stay the night with us. Finally back to Artesia! Found that we could help out at the Marie Chase Community Center. September 30th…Sister Carol, Jim, and I attended the 50th anniversary of the Clark Memorial Church, which was Daddy’s first church as pastor.

~October…Spent the 10th in Ruidoso with sister Carol and husband Cal to celebrate Carol’s 65th birthday! Another trip through Richardson where we kept Alexander and Abby while the kids got to spend some time alone! Breakfast in Mineola with Aunt TJ and then back to Marianna, Florida, to get Aunt Glennis and bring Jim’s two aunts to Artesia to visit Edith. Friends Joyce and Gary come to Artesia for a short, but wonderful visit. Back to Mineola and Richardson. Another month with wheels under us!

~November…While in Richardson, we had lunch with friend, Bonnie, in Flower Mound, visit with Paul in Garland, and spent quality time with Alexander and Abby while their parents did their own thing; Took the kids to Randi’s cheer competition before heading south to Cleburne to go to Sunday night praise service with my sister Nancy and her husband Tom. Also, got to see niece Brandi and her family this time around; Back to Artesia before going to Lubbock for Jaycie’s cheer competition. November 22nd, Thanksgiving…we celebrated with Jim’s mom and his 2 brothers and their wives here in Artesia. I received the coolest birthday gift a mother can be given…we’re going to be grandparents again since Leah Renee’ and Ryan are expecting their first child in June. November 23rd through the 24th… our second round of Thanksgiving began with all three of my children and their families. Took off the 25th headed back to Florida where we would leave Big V at Jim’s Aunt Glennis’s house and ride the cycle through Florida. We began the cycle trip on the 29th. Just call us the Little wanderers!

~December…Destinations in Florida on the cycle were: Clearwater, Naples, Key West, Fort Pierce, and Lady Lake. Attended the dedication of Crossroads Community Church on the 9th. Eventually, returned to Artesia on the 13th just in time to turn Big V back into a home filled with Christmas cheer!

Wishing each of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Come see us in New Mexico!
